and I had gone to the past two Renaissance Faires in California. I know Renaissance Festivals usually travel, but we had no hope of seeing it here. Well, we were wrong! My friend
April surprised me by taking me to the festival last weekend. It was "Royal Romance" weekend honoring prince and princesses and Shakespeare couples. So, although I have fairy supplies
and make shift buildings, they had houses and castles that looked pretty permanent. It was also pretty cool walking through the "forest" to get from show to show, place to place- it wasn't just a cleared off field. We watched the jousting tournament (in which I was chosen to give our Knight a token- this is the second time I've been chosen for that?!), Prince Charming and Lord Dashing's show, and a really funny Washing Wench where men were soaked! April and I decided to pay for our photo to be taken with Renaissance clothing. It was a pretty cheap price, so we figured "why not?!" It was really fun. It ended around 6pm, so we stayed in the city and shopped. I'd say it was a pretty successful girls night out! Here's a picture of Jan-Michael and I last year at the Renaissance Faire in CA.

You are so cute the way you get all dressed up for everything! I haven't been to the AZ festival in years...it's always too hot and dusty and it makes me cranky.
yep, you are definitely back in your element!
hehe cool. I haven't been to one of those since middle school... I think I still have my wooden sword I got from there :P
