End of Summer Cookouts

We have been invited to two amazing cookouts with friends these past couple weeks. The first one was at Renee and Matt's. Their place is out in cow country and they have a lot of land. Matt had AWESOME tiki torches and a nice fire pit. Jan-Michael and Matt cooked burgers and hot dogs on their massive grill. Then we all ate outside. Ellen and Renee surprised us with going away gifts- musical frames! Mine was a picture from when we saw Legally Blonde and played "ladies night". Jan's was a picture from the Pirates game and played "all star". So cute! Once we were full, we headed out to the fire pit and sat under a billion stars. We also attempted to make s'mores, but we were still pretty full. Thanks Matt & Renee for hosting an amazing cookout! We will miss you!

Our second cookout was at Matt and Maggie's house and my in-laws came with. Matt grilled burgers and hot dogs. This time we ate inside. We had a table full of goodies. Afterwards, we played the Wii. My in-laws even gave it a shot! It was a hoot =p Matt and Maggie's son, Aidan, is 5 and has a ton of fun nerf toys. Somehow, they always end up coming out and everyone starts shooting eachother with nerf darts and balls! Thanks Matt and Maggie for planning a get-together! See you Tuesday!

Although this has nothing to do with cookouts, Happy Birthday Summer!!!!!!!!!!

How fun! I love the Wii - even those we are still Wii-less - because it has a multi-generational appeal.

I love your history tour and gigantic dessert post. Did you finish all that? It looks delicious. It makes me full just looking at it.:)

Aaah, I wish Arizona were the type of place to do cookouts in the summer...it's just too darn hot. Although, the rest of the year we rock!
