Indiana For My Mom's Birthday

This past weekend, I got to go on a much needed vacation to Indiana! I spent the weekend with my family and celebrated my Mom's birthday. I took off on Friday morning, trying to arrive in time to decorate a cake I baked for her and still have time to change out of my PJs and into concert clothes! As her birthday gift, my Mom wanted to go to a Christian concert. Her favorite female Christian artist, Natalie Grant, was playing with a few others at a local church. We left early so that we could eat before the concert (obviously since I had been on the road all day). When we got closer to the location, we started running out of places to eat. So we stopped at a deli, which looked questionable, so we went next door which happened to be a pub. Once inside and seated, we suddenly started to notice there was some weird contest going on. Here we are in nice clothes, heading to a Christian concert just trying to grab something fast to eat when we realized there were girls walking around half naked trying to do some sort of raffle. I mean, almost strippers! I will never forget the look on my Mom's face as we dashed out the door! Luckily, Arby's was close by! The concert was really fun and I enjoyed the music. Especially the first act- Meredith Andrews. I not only liked her songs, but I loved the fact that she was married and her husband traveled with her and was playing guitar/keyboard for her that night. SO CUTE! I ended up buying her CD, which she autographed and we took a picture with her. Another performer was a previous cast member of American Idol. My Mom loves that show, so she got a picture with him too (Chris Sligh). The next couple days consisted of lots of shopping, drinking Seattle's Best whenever I could, and eating the much missed Mexican food (but it's still not as good as AZ). I took this quiz once, years back, that said I was a city girl with a small town heart. I think it's true because I throughly enjoyed being in the city, having everything I needed at my fingertips! But I did not enjoy the few moments of traffic and people everywhere! So, although I am happy to be home, I definitely enjoyed Indianapolis! Just before I left, I got to meet up with Melissa, who also lives in Indiana now! Melissa and I went to high school together and were on the cheer squad (of course!). So it was really fun to get caught up with her and I look forward to us "East Coast Girls" meeting up again.

Here's a picture of the adorable Tinker Bell and Elisa.

The happiest birthday wishes to my Mom and sister, who share the same birthday! Love you Mom and Kara!!! And the biggest thank you to my Step-Dad, Charlie, who fixed my car! No more hole in my bumper! Hopefully, people will stop hitting me and my car can stay nice and pretty for a while....Believe it or not, but I actually bought the new bumper on E-bay! Looks perfect, doesn't it?!

The bumper looks good. Where are all the pictures you took of the strippers?
