Can I just say, WHAT IS UP WITH THE GOLDEN GLOBES?! My husband and I sat down tonight to watch the 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards and came up short handed. Very seldom do I sit down to watch these shows unless they have caught some sort of personal interest. As a child, I always enjoyed award shows to see the glizy and galmourous starlets walk down those red carpets. This year, my interest was caught when Amy Adams was tossed a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy/Musical for her role as Giselle in my new favorite Disney film, "Enchanted". This year, the newbies who were nominated would not get their chance to walk down that red carpet in a new dress/suite, drink free champagne, and have their 2 minutes of endearing acceptance. Nope. This year, the Golden Globes were cancelled because of the writer's strike. So instead, they had a Dateline special about a select few of the nominees and announced the winners Access Hollywood style. LAME. My husband could rightfully not talk to me for making him sit through an hour of boringness. Instead, he kept at my side and, with me, sulked at the most awful version of any award show EVER. Anyway, to wrap it up, all I can say is congrats to Johnny Depp who has finally won a Golden Globe and was unable to give his first acceptance speech.... and to Disney/Pixar for Ratatouille :) haha And I can't wait to see Atonement!
PS To those big shot execs- freaking end the strike and pay those talented writers!

Seriously!! Pay the people! Most of the shows are crap without the writers! Did you try to watch any of them?? They suck! Pay the people that bring in the viewers!! I'm on strike with them now :)
YA! It is really ridiculous. I mean, they want 5 cents more per DVD sale. Is that SO much when it wouldn't have been a movie/show without them? I feel so out of the loop now that we live in PA. I thought the strike was over because I didn't constantly hear about it on the news. When I first moved to CA, the grocery stores were on strike- we couldn't even go to one without crossing the picket line and it lasted for like 9 months or something. The poor protesters had to like give us directions to a store that WASN'T on strike! We had no idea, we had just moved there! haha But it was just the most incredible scene. And then with the writers strike- Burbank is clogged with strikers all around the studios and people honking and everything... don't these big shots know that everyone is supporting these "little people". It makes them looks stupid at how long this is going.........
I don't think I ever heard about that grocery strike thing. I don't think I've ever gone to a place with picketers. I really know next to nothing about the writers strike. Just that something like that was going on. That stinks that they didn't have the awards show. How am I supposed to know who's hollywood's best dressed??
I actually hardly ever watch those shows, so I have to say I didn't even know the Golden Globes were on this week, nor was I disappointed to miss them. Sorry, just not my thing. I don't watch American Idol either. (gasps) I hate that show.
