How This Works
For charity specific donations, whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com will pay $1.00 per view of the designated charity’s videos - until the number of viewings equals the amount donated less .04 per view. The .04 expense is Revver.com's .03/view webhosting charge and California Community Foundation's (CCF) 1% administrative expense. OVER 95% of money donated goes directly to the chosen charity!
Donations to whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com are tax deductible and payable to the California Community Foundation. The foundation's administrative expense is 1% of total donations and paid by whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com
This is my brother C.J. who will be 13 this July. He was not diagnosed until he was half way through kindergarten, even though he showed classic characteristics and symptoms of an Autistic child at the age of 18 months. My Mom and Step-Dad went through a lot of the same things the families in the video did. C.J. was just recently diagnosed with an allergy to gluten and diary, which is becoming more and more common in Autistic children. Some day I hope they test ALL recently diagnosed Autistic children for these allergies instead of years and years down the road.

Thank you sweetie for helping the cause. C.J. watched the video and learned a little bit of what we got from Doctors in the time period 97-2000, before he was diagnosed. It was a very long, lengthy, time consuming, heart wrenching search for a true diagnosis. It would be so much easier if all Dr.'s were aware of the signs/symptoms and if developmental pediatricians and psychologists were more readily available for consultation. Love you, Mom
I just watched one of those videos forwarded to me by someone who is also a part of Best Buddies (the club I am a sponsor of). It is so great that they are putting out this information. Oprah has had a few shows on Autism recently and Jenny McCarthy just wrote a book, so there is more media attention on it than in the past. Hopefully there will be more research to help families and these dear children.
Congrats to those who are fighting to push for more Austism awareness in our country. A woman approached me at the State Capitol last week and invited me to a candlelight vigil that was going to be held to increase awareness for Austism, and to continue to fight to convince the government for more health care to help these families. We can produce change, it will just take one person at a time!
What a great big sister you are :) CJ seems like a great kid and I hope life just gets better and better for him. What a difficult thing for a family to go through. He's lucky that he's got people like you in his life!
