Yee Haw, A Birthday Advenure

This year I turned 28. Boy, 30 is looking very close from here.

My actual birthday day was very nice. It was beautiful outside and my inlaws were in town visiting. Plus, my husband got me the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers! I love flowers!
Instead of going to my favorite places, I really wanted to try something new. So I decided that we would eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp at Universal City Walk. I've walked by that place so many times, but had never eaten there! The funny thing is, I don't even like seafood! But, I do enjoy crab legs and they were on the menu! It was one of the most fun meals ever. I wore a bib and my fingers were dripping with butter sauce! They brought them in a huge pot too. After I got cleaned up, they made me stand up as a ton of waiters sang and danced around me. We were laughing until we were crying. Great times! After, I wanted to do something very important..... go crazy in a candy store! Who has ever done that? Usually you carefully measure and put a few pieces of candy in those clear bags, hoping it's not too heavy so you don't owe $20 for 5 pieces of candy. I hate that. For once, I just wanted to get whatever I wanted and however much I wanted! I was laughing and grabbing scoops as my husband shook his head, dreading the final price. HAHA! I'm a big kid, what can I say! For those who are wondering, I did this at It's Sugar, which is probably a bit more expensive than the average candy store. Anyone curious for the total? 3.5 pounds of candy (2 almost full bags) cost $41! I will never do that again! But I did have candy for the movie we watched at the AMC theatre!

The following weekend was my birthday party! This particular birthday party was in the making for a couple months. It was an idea for a new adventure! My beautiful friend, Erinn, had been telling me "We should go country line dancing!" for months. So, when my birthday snuck up on me, I thought "Ah! Country line dancing! That would be a fun birthday!" And there you go, a birthday party was born. Although I absolutely love country music and dancing, I had NEVER been country line dancing. Ever. So it was definitely a new adventure. Erinn taught me 5 line dances the weekend before, and I in turn taught a few of my friends a couple nights prior. We also knew they would be teaching us two at the country bar.  The country bar was perfect. It was SO country! I loved it. It looked like a barn! The first line dance we learned was a couple's dance. Jan-Michael and the other husbands/boyfriends in attendance, actually got up with us and learned. SO FUN! The next line dance was a very hip hop country line dance (see video below). Other than that, you just kinda jump in and try to learn. We were thrilled anytime we were able to do the dances we already learned (or learned at home). The DJ and band loved announcing my birthday. When we lit the candles on my cake (a colossal cupcake from Crumbs!), the band stopped and sang happy birthday, along with the entire bar! So special and hilarious! Weeks after the party, people have been telling me how fun it was... even those who are not country music fans! I can't wait to go country line dancing again =)

Ha ha! Happy belated birthday!!! Must be something about getting older and wanting to try new things...I always opt to do or eat something new and different now when I have the opportunity!
