Halloween Sweets

I bought my costume for Halloween early- last year actually. I love hitting those after Halloween sales. I found a really cute poodle skirt and planned to be a 50’s girl. However, that changed….

Janelle and Domonique decided we should be a unit. So they talked me in to being a “baked good”. Janelle had already chosen a chocolate chip cookie (her favorite dessert) outfit and Domonique was going to be a chef. Therefore, I decided to be Cherry Pie, since that’s MY favorite dessert. It was a great excuse to also BUY chocolate chip cookies and cherry pie =) Yummy!

Jan-Michael decided to be a vampire. Not the old school, huge fangs, blood dripping down, Dracula vampire…. The new “hip” version of vampire. Somehow, we talked him in to wearing glitter and therefore he became a Cullen vampire haha! Gene came up from Arizona to celebrate with Domonique. He was one of the characters from Reno 911. This was his first year ever dressing up!! I think he was nervous, especially since his shorts were really short, but he had a lot of fun. Lindsey was also part of our Halloween group. She was a punk fairy, compete with sassy black boots!

We weren't able to leave until pretty late in the evening because poor Domonique had to work. SO we hit the worst traffic ever. EVER. I've been in this traffic before (a couple Halloweens ago), but this was just awful. It pretty much took us an hour and a half to go 10 miles.... the worst of it being the last 5 miles. People go crazy for Halloween in Hollywood! So, our plans to go to the West Hollywood street party were overrun by our stomachs. We went to Mel's Diner on Hollywood Blvd. instead! It was still fun though because everyone was dressed up, even the waiters. The table next to us was a unit- all characters from the movie "Up". They looked fantastic!! Best unit ever!

The day before Halloween, I actually got to dress up at work! We even had a costume contest! I was really surprised that so many people actually participated. I had to borrow one of Janelle's Disney costumes for the office. I decided to go with Sleeping Beauty so I could get away with sleeping at work! All I kept hearing was, "I like your Sleeping Beauty costume, but you should have been Belle." If they only knew...

After work, Jan-Michael and I headed to Universal Studios Horror Nights. My husband LOVES to go to the theme parks when they have Halloween haunted mazes. He especially loves Michael Myers-Halloween. The "haunted house" they had for it looked just like the house in the movie. They also let you get off in the backlot and go through sets- of course creatures are jumping out at you... They also had mazes for My Bloody Valentine, Saw, and Chucky.

I hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween!

I really like your cherry pie costume! That is so cute...did you buy it or put it together? And of course Jan's costume is great! ;) I think he could be Jasper Cullen from the movie!
