This and That

Now that we're here, we've been running around and more or less, sight seeing! You can't help it when you live in a touristy place. I usually tag along with Domonique while she job hunts, which end up being at places like The Grove or Universal Studios City Walk! This picture was taken at a new candy store at the City Walk called It's Sugar. Marilyn here is made of nothing but jelly beans!

A visit to Walt's Barn turned in to a volunteer opportunity. I hadn't been to Walt's Barn for 5 years! So, I went to visit Nathan (Disney Gallery co-worker) and ended up talking to the director WHO asked me to volunteer. So, although I won't be working for Disneyland... I've still managed to be working around something Disney related =p

Another trip to Disneyland! Domonique's boyfriend was visiting, so we went to Disneyland! They just switched everything over to Halloween theme, so we were excited to go. New fireworks show where the villains take over. They developed this huge projecting balloon to have Jack Skellington's face on it and Zero flies across the castle instead of Tinker Bell. Space Mountain was changed over to Ghost Galaxy and it was pretty scary!

Gene, Domonique's boyfriend, planned a surprise romantic dinner for the two of them and WE got to play dress up with her! It was like Cinderella =) Janelle and Scottie went shopping and picked out her dress/shoes. Then I did her hair. Ta da! It was so fun. We didn't let Gene see her until she was fully ready. Then I took pictures of them like a proud Mom sending her child off to Homecoming!

We've been apartment hunting and have officially decided to stay in the one we are currently staying in. SO this means that the address I sent out to everyone a month or so ago is going to be used for another year. It will be a little crammed with only 2 bedrooms and one bathroom, but we're all willing to sacrifice things to stay here and ultimately pay less so that we can afford more. It's hard to explain to people who have never left their home state OR have never experienced living in California. But it's the right choice for us and a choice only we could make. My goal is to be able to save money to travel now that my Mom and in-laws are hundreds of miles away. The good news is I know this area like the back of my hand ... and now that the Americana was built, it's totally trendy =p

Jan-Michael will be here in one week! Yay! It has been too long. I don't know how military wives do it.

Oooh, I wish I could see Space Mountain as Ghost Galaxy! I love that ride!

I hear ya about the military wives...there's no way I could do it. I get sad when my husband has to go to work every day, and he's only gone 10 hours!

Glad you are adjusting well to being back in CA!

Brian's sisters and mother all live in CA, so we totally understand the cost of living issues there! They are all in Northern CA, but it's just as bad. They're used to all the apartment living.

Sounds like you are having a great time out there so far. Glad that Jan will be out there with you soon too!
